Rockville’s Mayor and Council issued a proclamation May 14 declaring June as LGBTQ Pride Month in the city. The proclamation, in part, recognized “the challenges that have occurred throughout history as equality has been pursued, and that equal opportunity and freedom from discrimination are rights for everyone and essential for a well-functioning society.”

The celebration will go from 2-4 p.m.
