Rockville Restaurant Cited In Food Inspection

ROCKVILLE, MD — Was your favorite local restaurant inspected this week? Check up on Rockville eatery inspections and see how restaurants near you score.

County inspectors do two kinds of checks: one is comprehensive and mainly looks for sanitation and maintenance operations, while the other focuses on monitoring critical food and equipment temperatures, general food handling and cleanliness. Some inspections are done following a complaint reported to the Licensure and Regulatory Office in the Department of Health and Human Services of Montgomery County.

County inspectors typically visit each facility once or twice per year, depending on complaints and food handling practices.

The inspections below were conducted from June 7 to June 14 in Rockville. One restaurant received citations — the county listed that those critical violations have been corrected.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story listed that Hank Dietle's Tavern was cited in an inspection. The county website displayed an incomplete category, thereby listing a health inspection violation as for insects and rodents. The category also includes control means; the venue was cited for a failure to have closing mechanisms on exterior doors prior to its opening.
