Snowfall Totals In Montgomery County On Dec. 16

Here's how much snow fell in parts of Montgomery County Monday, based on preliminary data from the National Weather Service.

ROCKVILLE, MD — More than an inch of snow fell in parts of Montgomery County Monday, according to preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service. Norbeck had the highest measurement in the county, with 1.3 inches of snow recorded there.

Damascus and Rockville saw 1.2 inches of snow, based on the National Weather Service data.

The most snow in the state was recorded in Frederick County, which reported 2.3 inches of accumulation.

Here's how much snow was reported in Montgomery County on Monday, Dec. 16:

  • Norbeck — 1.3 inches at 7 a.m.
  • Damascus — 1.2 inches at 7 a.m.
  • Rockville — 1.2 inches at 9:04 a.m.
  • Clarksburg — 1.1 inches at 6:29 a.m.
  • Aspen Hill — 1.0 inch at 7:20 a.m.
  • Germantown — 1.0 inch at 7:30 a.m.
  • Gaithersburg — 0.9 of an inch at 10:30 a.m.
  • Chevy Chase — 0.5 of an inch at 7:00 a.m.
  • Fairland — 0.5 of an inch at 8:34 a.m.

Public schools were closed Monday in Allegany County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Garrett County, Harford County, Howard County and Montgomery County.
