Sobriety Checkpoint Targets Drunk Drivers Thursday Night

If you plan to drink alcohol while cheering on the Capitals in Game 5 Thursday night, make sure to have a sober ride home.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — If you plan to drink alcohol while cheering on the Capitals in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Thursday night, make sure to have a sober ride home. The Montgomery County Police Department is conducting a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in the county.

The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed in advance, police said. The checkpoint will begin at about 9 p.m.

This enforcement is a component of the Department’s continuing effort to curb impaired driving and underage drinking.
