The proposed budget addresses financial pressures on the Rockville community due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Feb. 22, City Manager Rob DiSpirito presented a proposed operating budget of $139.7 million, which is a decrease of less than 1% from the FY 2021 adopted budget. The Mayor and Council discussed several changes to the FY 2022 proposed revenue and expenditure budget during a March 22 work session. These changes include increased revenues from income tax, building rental and tax duplication. On the expenditure side, the Mayor and Council gave direction to fund regular employee merits/steps, a temporary employee minimum wage equal to $15 per hour, partial restoration of employee travel and training funds, and a full website redesign.
Additional changes to the budget will be discussed during a work session on Monday, April 19. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/AgendaCenter to view the meeting agenda when it is posted later this week.
