ROCKVILLE, MD — It's no secret: Rockville has some of the most expensive homes on the market. At Patch, we were curious to see what you could rent for $2,000 a month. Here's what we found:



Built in 2016, Axis at Shady Grove Apartments offers studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units located just off I-270. For $1,965 a month, you can get a one-bedroom apartment with high ceilings, expansive windows, stainless steel appliances, a full-size washer and dryer system, and 1,010 square feet of living space. You'll also get access to landscaped courtyards, outdoor grilling, and a community swimming pool.

The luxury apartment complex was built in 2018 and is about a four-minute walk from the Twinbrook Metro station.

To date, there are several units renting for under $2,000 a month. For the price, you'll get either a studio or one-bedroom home with high ceilings, contemporary kitchens, and views of downtown Rockville. The Upton also offers residents access to a community swimming pool, fitness center, clubroom, and rooftop deck.


At The Residences at King Farm, you're minutes away from restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops, and a dog park. According to Realtor.com, there are three one-bedroom units going for less than $1,900 a month. Apartment homes feature private patios or balconies, vaulted ceilings, and plenty of natural light. Other amenities include shuttle service to trains, a picnic and grilling area, a fitness center, and on-site parking.
