Schuh on Governor's Diagnosis: 'Hogan Has Always Been a Fighter'

The governor announced Monday he has non-Hodgkins lymphoma; Anne Arundel County's executive said Hogan is in everyone's prayers.

Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh says every citizen in the county is praying for Gov. Larry Hogan as he begins cancer treatments.

Hogan said Monday he was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. He described the cancer as ”very advanced stage 3 or stage 4” and referred to cancerous tumors located in various parts of his body, including a tumor in his back.

Schuh said in a statement:

“Larry Hogan has always been a fighter. Just as he was successful in his fight to change Maryland, I have faith that he will be victorious in his battle against this terrible disease. His courage and good humor in the face of such challenging news should serve as an inspiration to us all.”

“The thoughts and prayers of every citizen of Anne Arundel County go out to the governor and his family during this difficult time.”
