Severna Park Preschool earns top honors

Celebree School in Severna Park (also known as Celebree Learning Center) received one of the state’s highest honors this week as they were awarded Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) accreditation. The MSDE accreditation process is, “a process in which programs commit to continuous quality improvement, to benefit children, families and staff” (MSDE website). Through accreditation, early childhood schools such as Celebree prove that their education is of the highest quality in early childhood education.

School Director, Tiffany Mills, is proud of the school and its journey through the process. “I’ve seen our team grow and develop as we have gone through the process to become accredited. It is amazing to see the level of love, support, and learning that happens in our school,” said Mills. She commented that it is a proud moment to know that she and her partner, Assistant Director Tiffany Wengert, are leading one of the highest quality teams of early childhood educators in the Severna Park area. Celebree CEO Richard Huffman further supports the idea of accreditation, stating, “I encourage all preschools to get on board with getting their schools accredited in helping to raise the quality of early education in our communities.”

Celebree’s families are proud to know they’re attending an accredited program as well. As part of the process, Celebree involved parents in evaluating and growing their program. Ashley Gunther, parent of two year old Makenzie, a student at the school, said, “the hardest part of going to work each day is leaving my child, but knowing that she is spending the day learning and having fun at Celebree provides me true peace of mind.” Gunther said she’s enjoyed seeing her child’s social, emotional, and academic growth through the time she has been enrolled.
