From pumpkin patches in the countryside to cultural festivals in town, there's quite a few fun options near Takoma Park. We decided to round up the ones worth a longer trip and those close by and in Takoma Park. The events are in no particular order.

1. Harvest Festival

Head over to the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn how Montgomery County's farms and communities worked together to support the war effort during World War I. Activities include hayrides, live farm animals, scarecrow making, a corn maze, farm house tours, an archaeology dig, garden tours and more. Admission is $15 per car—cash only!

2. World of Montgomery

The 9th annual festival will be held Sunday, Oct. 15 from 12-4 p.m. at Montgomery College Rockville. This year's event is focusing on the cultures of the four largest immigrant populations in Montgomery County—China, El Salvador, Ethiopia and India. Attendees can participate in traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremonies, dance with a Chinese dragon, explore the Global Spice Market, enjoy music from African drummers and more.

3. Rockville Antique Classic Car Show

Head over to Glenview Mansion Saturday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3:3o p.m. to see more than 550 antique and classic automobiles on display. Over 30 car clubs are represented during this grand event, from Packard to Ferrari. The show also has a flea market, a car sales area and food and drink.
