Friday, August 14
- Downtown Live outdoor concert features rhythm and blues music by 8 Ohms band at Fountain Plaza in Silver Spring. Concert begins at 6:30 p.m.
- Gold’s Gym leads a workout at Rockville Town Square from 10 to 11 a.m. every Friday morning through August.
- Imagination Stage presents Double Trouble at 10:30 a.m.
- Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is open today from 3 p.m. to midnight. (No entry to the fair after 11 p.m.)
- Deadline for entries for the F. Scott Fitzgerald Short Story contest is today. Entries must be postmarked no later than August 14.
- Poolesville’s outdoor entertainment series “Friday on the Commons” theme tonight is “Wet, Wacky and Wild.” Event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Whalen Commons.
- The Bethesda Art Walk begins at 6 p.m. Check out the map to plan your visit to participating galleries.
- Friday Night Live free outdoor concert features the Billy Coulter band at 6:30 p.m. at Rockville Town Square.
- Lakefront Live outdoor concert features classic rock music by Diamond Alley at 6:30 p.m.in Gaithersburg.
- Wheaton TGIF is back with music by John Stone Reggae band followed with the movie Big Hero 6 at 7 p.m.
- Adventure Theatre presents Oliver! The Musical at 7 p.m. at the Round House Theatre in Bethesda
- The First Baptist Church of Gaithersburg is hosting a free outdoor screening of the movie Maleficient on their lawn at 7 p.m.
- The musical The Wiz opens at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.

- Strathmore’s 7th Annual Uke & Guitar Summit begins today at 9 a.m.in North Bethesda.
- The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is open from 10 a.m. to midnight today at the county fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. There are numerous contests this year, including flower arranging, veggie races, skid steer loader and more.

- The Animal Services and Adoption Center is holding a free rabies vaccination clinicfrom 8 to 10:30 a.m. in Derwood.
- Strathmore’s Uke & Guitar Summit continues today in North Bethesda.
- The Agricultural Fair continues today with much to do and see. Open from 10 a.m. to midnight in Gaithersburg. (No entry after 11 p.m.)
