Maryland Weather Forecast: Spring Greets Us With Warmer Temps Before Cold Front Midweek

TAKOMA PARK, MD — It's the first day of spring, Patchers. We have a lot to look forward to this season, from Earth Day to long weekends to Cinco De Mayo, and of course, the warmer weather.

This new season greeted us with mild weather Monday. Tuesday will warm up a bit with a high near 60 before we get a cold front midweek. Expect a high near 44 Wednesday, 45 Thursday and 55 Friday to end the workweek.

Temperatures are expected to shoot back up this weekend with a high in the 70s Saturday and 60s Sunday.

Monday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday: A chance of showers before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24. North wind 6 to 14 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 45.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71.
