Maryland Weekend Weather: Could Feel Like 106, Heat Advisory Issued

MARYLAND — Regarding weather, the story heading into the weekend is the heat. No, the story will continue to be the heat, according to the area arm of the National Weather Service.

A heat advisory is in effect for much of the state Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The heat index could hit 106, according to The National Weather Service. Residents are advised to take extra precautions while spending time outside.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs hear 97 and a heat index approaching 105. Saturday? Partly sunny with highs near 95 and a heat index approaching 101. Sunday? Mostly cloudy with highs near 96 and a heat index once again topping 100.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 94. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 76. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 96. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
