TAKOMA PARK, MD — The polls have closed in the town of Takoma Park, where another Election Day is in the books. Results are in, indicating that Cindy Dyballa was elected as Ward 2 Council Member after an instant runoff count, city officials announced late Tuesday night.

Dyballa received 410 votes (47 percent), while Asleigh Nugent received 339 (39 percent), according to city officials. Joe Edgell received 125 votes (14 percent).

No candidate reached the 50 percent threshold, so an instant runoff was needed.
