Takoma Park Group Wins State Grant For Public Art Project
Old Takoma Business Association/Main Street Takoma won a $15,000 grant to install five "Art Seats" in the gazebo.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — The Old Takoma Business Association/Main Street Takoma group won a $15,000 grant from the state and will use the money to commission the creation of five "Art Seats" that will be placed at the Takoma Park Gazebo.
The grant came from Maryland's Department of Housing & Community Development, according to a statement. With this money, the organization plans to install five "artistically-designed and professionally-fabricated" seats for the community to enjoy for years to come.
The organization is looking to create a small working group to help provide direction to the artist/fabricator. The group welcomes applicants with artistic backgrounds or just a love for the Takoma community. If you're interested in participating in the working group, please email laura@mainstreettakoma.org by Wednesday, July 12th. Group members are obligated to attend one or two meetings in July/August.
