Takoma Park Mayor Holds 'Lunch With The Mayor' Series

Mayor Kate Stewart will host a series of lunches at various restaurants in the Takoma Langley Crossroads neighborhood starting this Friday.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Takoma Park's Mayor Kate Stewart will host a series of lunches at various restaurants in the Takoma Langley Crossroads neighborhood. The series, called "Lunch with the Mayor" will take place through June to October.

Stewart will hold these luncheons at restaurants specializing in international cuisine. Attendees can try a range of food from the Caribbean, South Asia, Latin America and more on "this local food trip around the world," according to a release from Main Street Takoma.

The series kicks off Friday at Caribbean Place. Stewart will be joined by Maryland State Delegate David Moon and Takoma Park Councilmember Fred Schultz.

All lunches start at 12 p.m. Locations and dates are as follow:

  • June 9: Caribbean Palace, 7680 New Hampshire Ave, Takoma Park
  • June 23: Pupuseria El Comalito, 1167 University Blvd E, Takoma Park
  • July 28: Tiffin, 1341 University Blvd E, Takoma Park
  • August 25: Sardi's Pollo A La Brasa, 1159 University Blvd E, Takoma Park
  • September 8: El Marinero Comida Lantina and Grill, 1319 University Blvd E, Takoma Park
  • September 22: El Campeon Rotisserie Chicken & Bakery,902 Merrimac Dr, Takoma Park
  • October 13: Tijuana’s Mexican Cafe 949 University Blvd E, Takoma Park, MD
