The GBMC HealthCare System is pleased to announce it has expanded its reach by opening a new primary care location in the Lutherville-Timonium area. The beautiful and spacious new office provides increased accessibility to family healthcare for residents in Lutherville-Timonium and the surrounding areas.

GBMC Health Partners, GBMC HealthCare system’s network of more than 300 primary care providers, specialists, advanced practice clinicians, and hundreds of support staff who offer primary and specialty care, has started a new primary care practice -- GBMC Health Partners Primary Care – Padonia.

“This new advanced primary care practice will serve the entire family, from newborns to elders. It will be staffed with a team of physicians, advanced practitioners, nurse care managers, care coordinators, and support staff,” said John B. Chessare, MD, MPH, President and CEO of the GBMC HealthCare System. “This new patient-centered medical home is part of GBMC’s community-based system that provides the care that we would want for our own loved ones with the best health outcomes and care experience with the least waste of patient and community resources.”

As part of the GBMC HealthCare System, the team at GBMC Health Partners Primary Care – Padonia offers patients easy access to experienced specialists and surgeons, when necessary, as well as the most advanced care in the region at nearby Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) when they need it most. In addition, all GBMC Health Partners offices use a shared electronic medical record system that allows providers in the group to access medical records and coordinate care across a secure network. Patients can also manage their health and conveniently access information about any of their office visits online using a web-based patient portal.

The Padonia location will utilize the same model as the GBMC Health Partners Primary Care – Family Care Associates office. There will be no patient waiting room, allowing patients to go directly to their exam rooms and eliminating wastes in time, money, and space. Patients have the option of using geo-referencing check-in technology (Hello Patient) and self-cleaning kiosks.

The new practice follows rigorous safety practices related to the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, face masks and hand sanitizer are provided for patients upon arrival. Employees are required to wear masks and follow strict hygienic procedures set out by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The GBMC HealthCare System also includes: GBMC, a 342-bed medical non-profit hospital (acute and sub-acute care), which handles more than 23,000 admissions and 52,000 emergency room visits annually and Gilchrist, Maryland's largest eldercare company. Gilchrist offers both in-home and inpatient hospice care with 74 beds split among 3 inpatient units, medical care, grief counseling, and bereavement services to support patients and their families at every stage of serious illness.
