Wreaths For Fallen Heroes To Memorialize Lost Officers

Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens is hosting a fallen heroes event on Saturday, Dec. 9, in Baltimore County.

TIMONIUM, MD -- The Police Emerald Society of Baltimore will honor fallen heroes on Saturday with a ceremony in the Fallen Heroes Garden at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

There are 70 firefighters and police officers buried in the fallen heroes garden, according to officials.

Last month, Detective Sean Suiter of the Baltimore Police Department was laid to rest there.

The "Wreaths for Fallen Heroes" event is open to the public. Friends, family and and former colleagues may place a wreath in honor of their fallen hero. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 East Padonia Road in Timonium.

The Police Emerald Society of Baltimore, which is sponsoring the event, is a Towson-based nonprofit that raises funds for charities in the Baltimore area and provides an opportunity for law enforcement members to engage with the community.
