7 Easter Egg Hunts, Events Around Towson

Easter is on Sunday, April 21, but many events will be held beforehand around Towson. Here's a list.

TOWSON, MD — Spring is here and as flowers slowly begin to bloom that can only mean one thing: Easter is right around the corner. For kids — or, you know, youthful teens and adults — it's never too early to start thinking about hunting for eggs.

Easter comes pretty late this year, falling on Sunday, April 21. (Last year it was on April 11 and the year before that it fell on April 16.)

Here’s a roundup of some egg hunts in and around Towson:

  • Hampton National Historic Site Easter Egg Hunt — The free event at 535 Hampton Lane in Towson will take place from 2–3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Parking and admission are free.
  • Flashlight Egg Hunt at Lake Roland — Registration is required for this nighttime hunt, from 7:15–9 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at 1000 Lakeside Drive. Use flashlights and night vision to hunt for eggs. There are different hunts for different age groups. It costs $5 per person and $3 for members. Register in advance by emailing lakerol-rp@baltimorecountymd.gov.
  • Breakfast with the Bunny and Egg Hunt At Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company — Dine with the Easter bunny then hunt for eggs and partake in crafts at this event from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Cockeysville firehouse, 11210 York Rd, Cockeysville, MD 21030. No tickets are required; no reservations are needed. Just show up! Egg hunts are at 9 and 10 a.m.
  • Egg Dyeing At Oregon Ridge Nature Center — Bring your own hard-boiled eggs and wear old clothes for this event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030. Cost is $5 per person and $3 for Oregon Ridge Nature Center members.
  • Pine Grove Middle School Annual Easter Egg Hunt — Hundreds of eggs will be stuffed with goodies and candy at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Pine Grove Middle School, 9200 Old Harford Road, Parkville. Hunts are divided by age group at this event, sponsored by the Parkville Recreation Council. Call the weather line (410) 372-8169 after 8:00am for any concerns due to inclement weather.
  • Baltimore Humane Society Easter Eggstravaganza - Both kids and pets can get their pics taken with the Easter bunny at the humane society's event from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown. There will be three egg hunts. Cost is $5 per family.
  • Cromwell Valley Park Easter Egg Hunt — This event is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Sherwood Farms, Cromwell Valley Park, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road. Activities will include multiple egg hunts, at staggered times, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will also be crafts, 4-H rabbit club and more. It's free, and a $5 donation per car is appreciated.
