75 Percent of Baltimore County Roads Plowed: Government

Drivers are asked to stay off the roads in Baltimore County, where not all plowing has been completed.

Many roads remain dangerous in Baltimore County, county officials said Monday morning.

Approximately 75 percent of roads have been plowed at least once, officials reported before 8 a.m., and they hope to get to all of them by Monday night.

There are 1,000 more roads to go, according to the report, which said crews are working 24/7 on snow removal.

Baltimore County’s snow removal protocol calls for first hitting main arteries such as Joppa Road and Owings Mills Boulevard as well as feeder roads like Goucher Boulevard and Lyons Mill Road, then plowing community streets, courts and cul-de-sacs. The county does not plow alleys and private roads.

On Monday, county officials said even main roads were hazardous, with lanes blocked due to snow, and state officials discouraged people from driving.
