The Arc Baltimore Names Donald Himmelfarb Director Emeritus
Honor is the equivalent to the Hall of Fame for Arc Baltimore Board of Director service.

The Arc Baltimore has honored Donald Himmelfarb, retired President and COO of DTG, naming him Director Emeritus.
Presented during The Arc’s recent Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony, the Director Emeritus honor is the equivalent to the Hall of Fame for Arc Baltimore Board of Director service. Conferred upon members after they conclude active Board service, the Director Emeritus recognition is not automatic, but rather is an individual and specific designation reserved for retiring members whose service has been substantial and longstanding.
“Don joined The Arc Baltimore Board in 2011, and has been consistent and diligent to his commitment from the start,” says The Arc’s Chief Executive Officer, Kathleen McNally Durkin. “He has served on two committees and has been very generous to The Arc’s Family Fund program. Don has contributed greatly to our leadership and we really are a better organization as a result.”

In 2020, Himmelfarb was presented The Arc Baltimore’s President’s Cup for his meritorious service. The President’s Cup honors that Board member who has distinguished him- or herself by providing exemplary service to The Arc. The Award recipient is selected at the sole discretion of the President of The Arc Baltimore’s Board of Directors.
The Arc Baltimore’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony featured the election of the organization’s new board of directors and officers, and award recognitions for those who have gone above and beyond in their service to The Arc Baltimore.

“The hard work and dedication of all of our award recipients and nominees, and so many others, is the critical component which enables The Arc Baltimore to support people with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships,” Durkin concludes.
