Ax Throwing Venue Opening In Towson
Stumpy's Hatchet House will open this weekend for those in Towson looking for a thrill.

TOWSON, MD — A new entertainment destination will be opening in Towson this weekend. The venue will combine ax-throwing with socializing.
Stumpy's Hatchet House Towson will open Sunday, June 2.
Guests will find a throwing pit where players can take turns throwing hatchets at wooden targets while their friends gather in the common area. Light snacks like pretzels, chips, soda, iced tea and water will be available.

Before the throwing starts, there is a 15-minute training session so everyone can get oriented.
Stumpy's is a national franchise marketed as a place where friends can try an alternative form of recreation. It can also serve as a venue for bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate events and date nights.

The first Stumpy's location opened in New Jersey in 2016 and now, the franchise is queuing up to open three locations in Maryland — in Towson, Columbia and Frederick.
Stumpy's Hatchet House Towson chose to thrown down in the area for several reasons, according to this statement provided to Towson Patch: "Towson has an incredible array of restaurants, businesses, colleges and of course Towson University....[but] besides the Cinema and bowling, there's limited options for people to choose from for entertainment. We are here to give Towson a new Axe-citing option to hang out with friends, date nights, bachelor/bachelorette parties and corporate events!"
Stumpy's Hatchet House Towson will be at 1 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 117, Towson, MD 21204.
These are the hours of operation: Sunday: noon–9 p.m.; Wednesday: 5–10 p.m.; Thursday: 5–10 p.m.; Friday: 5 p.m.–midnight; and Saturday: noon to midnight. The business is closed Monday and Tuesday.
It's $25 plus tax for one hour of throwing for one to four people; $45 for two hours and five or more guests; and $15 for non throwers.
