Golden Retriever Rescued At Loch Raven Reservoir: Officials

Authorities said special operations crews saved "Jackson" from the reservoir near the Loch Raven dam.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A golden retriever was rescued Friday afternoon from Loch Raven Reservoir.

Crews said they lassoed "Jackson," who had ended up in the reservoir's small tunnels near the lower Loch Raven dam.

After 3 p.m., the Providence Volunteer Fire Company reported special operations personnel came up with a plan to "free Fido."

The crew guided him to shore, where his family was waiting.

Loch Raven Drive was closed from Cromwell Bridge to Providence Road during the response.

By 3:30 p.m., authorities said the road was set to reopen.
