Erna Miller, 92, Formerly Of Towson
A longtime Towson resident and Havenwood Presbyterian Church member has passed away at the age of 92.

Erna Miller, 92, died peacefully at her home at Sunrise Senior Living in Falls Church, Virginia, on Aug. 31. She was born in June 1926 near Westmore, Montana, the daughter of Adolph and Lydia (Freier) Rieger. She was the 14th of 18 children and grew up on a ranch.
Erna graduated from the University of Montana, and married Leslie V. Miller in 1953. Their first home was in Miles City, Montana, but they also lived in Minneapolis, Bismarck and the Towson area, where she was living when she retired in 1991.
She worked for many years teaching high school business classes and was employed as a guidance counselor. She and Les loved to travel and visited many places in the U.S., Europe and Asia. She was a longtime member of Havenwood Presbyterian Church in Lutherville.

Erna was a woman of many talents, including needlework and gourmet cooking. She was married to Leslie for 57 years until he died in September 2010. She was also a beloved mother. One of their daughters, Gayle, who was married to Kevin Dougherty, passed away in November 2002; and son, Brad, married to Barbara, passed away in May 2010. She is survived by one brother, Theodore; son Tracy, who is married to Donna; daughter Randi; as well as 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church at 2381 Cedar Lane in Vienna, Virginia, on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m.
