Fallen Tree Blocks Road Near Towson, Officials Say
Saturated soil caused a tree to block a road near Towson Saturday after an evening of heavy rain, authorities reported.
TOWSON, MD — Some roads were closed in Baltimore County after heavy rain Friday night. Traffic impacts were felt in part of Towson Saturday, officials said.
East Seminary Avenue was closed between Milldam Road and Hickory Lot Road, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company reported Saturday morning.
A tree had fallen across the road, according to the fire company.

The tree in the Hampton area was not the only one that fell in the county.
Harford Road was also closed in the Kingsville area due to a fallen tree.

"This morning, several trees have fallen in roadways and on vehicles due to the heavy rain and saturated soils," Baltimore County Emergency Management reported Saturday, May 29. "Be alert while driving in areas with heavy tree density. Report any downed trees in roads to the non-emergency line. Avoid any downed wires."
