First Newborn At St. Joseph Of 2018

TOWSON, MD — The first baby of 2018 born at St. Joseph Medical Center came at 6:29 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1. Hospital officials said that Eleanor Donald was the first newborn of the year.

Alexa and Frank Donald, the baby's parents, stayed up all night awaiting her arrival, officials said.

Dr. Susie Chung was the delivering doctor, according to St. Joseph, which shared the following photo, along with a message of congratulations:

Elsewhere in Baltimore County, the first baby at Franklin Square of the new year was born at 12:24 a.m. Minutes before, at 12:18 a.m., another baby came into the world at St. Agnes Hospital, which WJZ reported was the newest of the New Year's Day babies in the Baltimore metro area.
