Flora Is First Baby Born At St. Joseph Medical Center For 2019
The baby girl in Towson was one of a handful of Maryland newborns who arrived in the first hours of 2019.

TOWSON, MD — The first baby of 2019 at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center was born a little more than an hour into the New Year. She was the second girl in as many hours born in the Baltimore metro area.
Flora Esme Miles arrived into the world at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, according to a statement from St. Joseph Medical Center.
The weighed 7 pounds and 9.3 ounces, officials reported.

At 12:02 a.m., Snow Violet Taylor was born at Harbor Hospital in south Baltimore; and before that, just a few seconds into the New Year, Meilani Morales was delivered at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville.
