Former Terp, Cardinal Juan Dixon To Appear At Towson Mall

The former University of Maryland basketball star and Calvert Hall alum will appear at the mall for a meet and greet with fans on Saturday.

It's not every day that a major sports star makes an appearance at Towson Town Center.

But for University of Maryland basketball fans, this weekend presents an opportunity to meet former Terps shooting guard Juan Dixon. He will be meeting with fans in two sessions at the mall at 12:15 and 1:10 p.m. Mar. 23.

The meet and greet is free, but you have to register for the event online; each session is limited to 50 people.

Selected in the first round of the NBA Draft in 2002 by the Washington Wizards, Dixon was a college basketball star at the University of Maryland College Park.

In 2002, after leading the Terps to their first ever National Championship, he was named ACC Athlete of the Year, NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player, ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, Consensus first team All-American, according to a player biography on the University of Maryland's website.

Before playing at the University of Maryland, Dixon played basketball for Calvert Hall College High School in Towson.

Later this year, Dixon be featured in a series of basketball camps for kids at the Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills and the Park School in Pikesville.
