Heat Advisory Issued for Baltimore-Washington Region
Temperatures may feel between 100 and 105 degrees on Thursday, the National Weather Service advises.

A heat advisory is in effect for the Baltimore-Washington area from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory, stating that temperatures will be 100 to 105 degrees on the heat index, with the hottest part of the day coming around 5 p.m.
"The combination of high temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible," according to the weather service statement.

- Stay hydrated; drink plenty of water.
- Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas if working outside.
- Never leave pets or children unattended in the car on hot days, even with windows open.
- Move to a shaded, cool location if feeling ill; call 911 if signs of heat stroke are apparent.
