'House of Cards Delays' Filming In Towson

Popular and critically acclaimed Netflix political drama is set to shoot scenes in the Historic Courthouse next week.

House of Cards fans hoping today to catch of glimpse of Kevin Spacey or get a peak at a potential plot spoiler have a opening in their schedules.

The production company responsible for shooting the popular and critically acclaimed political drama was scheduled today to use the County Council library as a back drop.

That schedule has now changed.

Thomas Peddicord, legal adviser and administrator for the council, said the company is now looking at Aug. 7 as a potential shooting date.

Given how things have gone in the last few weeks, this date may also be subject to change.

The Netflix original drama features Kevin Spacey as Rep. Frank Underwood, a South Carolina congressman, who looks to exact political revenge after being passed over for an appointment to Secretary of State.

The drama became the first online-only show to pick up an Emmy nomination. The show received nine nominations including best drama series and best lead actor and actress for Spacey and Robin Wright, respectively.

While much of the action in the show is based in Washington, DC, but it is filmed on a soundstage in Harford County. Locations in Baltimore City and surrounding counties have been used to stand in for the nation's capital.

In June, the show shot scenes in the State House in Annapolis.
