Jogging Doctor Houk's Condition Improves

Houk, a Lutherville internist, suffered serious injuries after he was struck by an SUV in Towson last month.

Dr. Ted Houk, an internist who was critically injured after he was hit by an SUV while jogging to work last month, is recovering from the accident.

Houk, 50, was recently moved to a rehab facility to continue treatment, according to a post on the Greater Baltimore Medical Center's Twitter page. He is employed at the Towson hospital and also runs a private practice on York Road.

Early police investigation showed that Houk, of the 1700 block of Kurtz Avenue, was jogging southbound on N. Charles Street when he was struck by a northbound 2005 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 65-year-old woman on March 28, Baltimore County police said. The woman had her turn signal on to indicate her intention to turn onto Chestnut Lane. Houk jogged into the traffic lane, in the way of her vehicle, as she drove past Boyce Avenue, according to police.
