New Crab Restaurant Coming To Towson
The Crafty Crab is planning five locations in Maryland, including one in Towson.
TOWSON, MD — A new home-style seafood restaurant is making plans to open in Towson. Crafty Crab Seafood will open on Taylor Avenue. The eatery focuses on Southern cooking, including what it calls its signature New Orleans-style low country boil.
The Crafty Crab menu includes boiled items like blue crab, king crab, shrimp, clams and mussels. Diners can season their food with a choice of Cajun, buttery garlic, lemon pepper or a mixture of spices. Both small and regular portions are available, and patrons can mix and match items.

There's also a fried section, where people can opt for a chicken, catfish, oyster or other basket that comes with a side of corn on the cob, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, coleslaw or potato. Raw oysters, gumbo, hush puppies, salads and cheesecake round out the offerings.
There are nine Crafty Crab locations at the moment, six of which are in Florida. The closest to Towson is Bensalem, Pennsylvania, which is more than 100 miles away.

Several new locations are in the pipeline, including five in Maryland.
In its "coming soon" section, the Crafty Crab website lists locations in Bowie, District Heights, Dundalk and Waldorf as well as Towson. The Eastpoint Mall restaurant is set to open in the next few weeks, The Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday, Aug. 21. It will reportedly be where Applebee's once stood.
The Crafty Crab in Towson will be at 1012 Taylor Avenue, according to the company's website. An opening date was not revealed.
