Orchard Hill’s Cardiac Care Program focuses on promoting independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients, while increasing their participation in physical and social activities. Services are tailored for individuals with congestive heart failure, post heart transplants and acute myocardial infarctions, among other diagnoses.
Dr. Pollock is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear medicine. He serves as the director of the cardiac population health and heart failure at the University of Maryland’s St. Joseph’s Hospital.
In addition to consults with Dr. Pollock and other board-certified specialists, Orchard Hill heart patients benefit from certified nurses on staff, seven days per week therapy services as prescribed, 24/7 access to lab and radiology services, on-site EKGs, pacemaker assessments and monitoring, additional therapies, and patient/caregiver cardiac care education. Orchard Hill also offers remote telemetry services that provide continuous heart rhythm monitoring for cardiac patients. If a cardiac event occurs, an immediate emergency response is initiated, and the rhythm strip is sent directly to the cell phone of the cardiologist on call.
