Possibly Hazardous Commute Prompts Alert For Baltimore County

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Monday due to potential hazards Tuesday morning.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Drivers could face slippery conditions during the Tuesday morning rush hour in parts of Maryland, including Baltimore County. A light wintry mix is possible, according to the forecast.

A glaze of ice or coating of snow could materialize for the morning rush, forecasters said, citing a 30 percent chance of light snow and freezing rain.

"This could lead to dangerous traveling conditions, multiple accidents, and extensive delays," the National Weather Service said in a special weather statement issued Monday. "Plan ahead by allowing for extra travel time, and consider using telework options."
