Severe Thunderstorm Warning Expires For 2 Counties, Baltimore
A severe thunderstorm was detected with 60 mph wind and half-dollar-sized hail, the National Weather Service reported.
A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29. The warning applied to Baltimore and Harford counties as well as Baltimore City.
The National Weather Service issued the warning after radar detected a severe thunderstorm over the Lochearn/Pikesville area at 5:38 p.m. The storm, which had 60 mph wind gusts and half-dollar-sized hail, was moving east at 40 mph.
These locations may be impacted, according to the warning: Baltimore, Pikesville, Middle River, Cockeysville, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Towson, Bel Air South, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Parkville, Owings Mills, Bel Air North, Carney, Milford Mill, Perry Hall, Reisterstown, Lochearn and Rosedale.

During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.
