Small Fire Breaks Out Near Towson University

Baltimore County fire investigators ruled that a small fire Thursday morning at a three-story apartment building near Towson University was accidental.

The fire, which occurred at an off-campus privately owned apartment building in the 400 block of Campus View Drive, began in a first-floor bedroom, Baltimore County police said. The resident heard the smoke alarm sound while taking a shower, observed smoke coming from the bedroom and evacuated.

All building occupants exited the building safely.

Police said the fire was kept under control by the sprinkler system, and damage was contained in the bedroom where it started.

The cause of the fire was not yet released.
