State Designates Catonsville An Arts & Entertainment District

The designation is a first in Baltimore County.

CATONSVILLE, MD — Catonsville this week was dedicated as Baltimore County's first Arts and Entertainment District. According to reports, the community was given the honors Monday by County Executive Johnny Olszewski and will now go by the moniker "Music City Maryland."

The Luman Woodland Theater and businesses along Frederick Road will be part of the district, WMAR Baltimore reports. The designation goes into effect July 1 and remains in place for 10 years.

Towns designated as Arts and Entertainment Districts are offered state tax incentives to help attract artists, arts organizations, and other creative enterprises to those areas, while also contributing to local economic growth.
