Towson Falls To UConn In NCAA Tournament

The Towson University women's basketball team made its inaugural run in the NCAA tournament for the first round of March Madness.

STORRS, CT — The Towson Tigers fell to the mighty UConn Huskies in what was the first ever appearance by the TU women's basketball team in the NCAA tournament. Heading into the game as the No. 2 seed in the conference, UConn set out to prove that it should have been number one.

At the end of Friday night's game, the Huskies came out on top, 110-61.

"We got here and played a great team in UConn — all respect to them," Towosn senior Danielle Durjan said. In her final year on the team, she noted the Tigers won a CAA championship. "It was just a great moment and great experience," Durjan said.
