Towson Restaurant On Top 10 List For Romantic Dining: OpenTable

TOWSON, MD — A Towson restaurant has secured a spot on OpenTable's list of the most romantic dining spots in the Baltimore area. The list compiled by the online reservation service was based on reviews.

The Melting Pot, which serves fondue and also lets diners "cook" their own meals at the table, made the grade for its ambiance.

More than 1,600 people reviewed the York Road restaurant, and 94 percent recommended it.

One said the experience of cooking at the table made it a good place for a date "because there's ample opportunity to talk during the cooking process."

Another reviewer gave The Melting Pot points for "...the little things that they do, like wishing you a happy anniversary."

An example provided by another OpenTable user brings the idea home.

"I came there for a special occasion. It was my girlfriend's birthday," the reviewer wrote, adding his girlfriend hails from the Dominican Republic and her native tongue was Spanish. "I requested for them to sing to her in Spanish because I know it would touch her heart. It did. Our server William made her night. I would strongly recommend coming here. It's the little things that make a place great."

Only one other Baltimore County restaurant was among the "Diner's Choice" winners, deemed the most romantic restaurants in the Baltimore area by OpenTable users, and that was Milton Inn in Sparks.
