Tree Falls On Providence Road, Closure In Effect

Drivers should take alternate routes if their travels include this part of Providence Road.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A tree is blocking part of Providence Road, which is closed to traffic. There are downed trees and wires in the area, according to the Providence Volunteer Fire Company.

Providence Road is closed between Seminary Avenue and Loch Raven Drive and will be shut down for several hours, the fire company reported after 4 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

BGE is turning off power the area as it works to clear the scene, officials said, adding that nobody was injured.

There are 290 people in the area experiencing outages, according to BGE, which reports there is an estimated restoration time from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.; that is subject to change. Check the outage map for the latest from BGE. The utility company said the outages occurred after 3 p.m.

Drivers should take alternate routes, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company advised.
