What's Open, Closed In Baltimore County For New Year's Day 2018
New Year's Day affects trash pickup, libraries and more in Baltimore County. Plus, see mall hours and info on First Day Hikes on Jan. 1.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Baltimore County government offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year's Day. The closure includes Circuit and District Courts, senior centers, health department offices, drop-off centers and the landfill. In addition, CountyRide vans will not operate.
All branches of the Baltimore County Public Library are closed on Monday, Jan. 1, for New Year's Day.
There will be no trash or recycling collection on New Year's Day. Trash and recycling drop-off facilities, including the Eastern Sanitary Landfill in White Marsh, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1.

Baltimore County residents should consult the collection schedule to learn when materials should be set out during weeks that contain a holiday. People may also call the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000.
Multiple parks in Baltimore County are offering guided hikes on Monday, Jan. 1, as part of the Maryland Park Service's "First Day Hikes" program. It encourages Marylanders to take a hike to kick off the new year. Gunpowder, North Point, Patapsco and Soldiers Delight are among the parks in Baltimore County where the hikes are being offered. Eastpoint Mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1.
Security Square Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Towson Town Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1.
White Marsh Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1.
