
William David Kurtz, a preeminent Maryland Plaintiff Attorney died of sudden heart failure on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at St. Joe’s Medical Center in Baltimore. He was 69 years old.
Bill was born on December 17, 1947 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Marlyn Kurtz, a senior executive of Howard Johnson, and Constance Kurtz. He earned a bachelor of science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park, and obtained his Juris Doctor from University of Maryland Law School in 1973. He practiced law as a plaintiff's attorney in personal injury, product liability and medical malpractice for over 40 years. He received the Martindale–Hubbel Peer Review Rating "AV Preeminent - Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards."
Bill is survived by both parents, his loving wife of 45 years, Anne Webster Kurtz; son, William Vincent Kurtz; and sisters Kathleen Browhan and Lisa Goff of Melbourne, Florida.

His entire legal career in Baltimore included 25 years with Verderaime & DuBois, followed by six years with the Law Offices of Peter Angelos, including special projects in ground water and well pollution for lead and gasoline. He was currently associated with Goodman, Meager & Enoch, LLP. He was a member of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association and Maryland Bar Association.
An avid reader, Bill enjoyed horseback riding, family events and travel. He devoted years to coaching Little League Baseball and was a lifelong fan of the University of Maryland Terrapins and Baltimore Orioles.
