Wintry Weather Prompts Closures Saturday In Baltimore County

A chance of winter weather Saturday sparked an announcement from BCPS.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Winter weather is in the forecast for Baltimore County this weekend, and the school system announced closures in preparation.

"Due to impending inclement weather, all Baltimore County Public Schools’ buildings and offices are closed tomorrow, Saturday, February 13, 2021," officials said in a statement Friday."All athletic events and activities are cancelled."

The forecast calls for a chance of flurries after 3 a.m. and snow before 4 p.m. Saturday in Baltimore County. Sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain, could occur during the day and evening. Little to no accumulation of snow and sleet is anticipated. Saturday's high will be near 28 degrees, with a low of 27 degrees.

Temperatures tick up Sunday to near 36 degrees. A 30 percent chance of rain and sleet is also in the forecast.

More winter weather is forecast for Presidents Day, when there is a slight chance of snow, freezing rain and sleet. The high will be near 36 with a low of 29.
