Couple Found Dead In Murder-Suicide In Prince George's County

A man and a woman were found dead in Upper Marlboro Tuesday night. Police said they are investigating the incident as a murder/suicide.

(Updated 4 p.m. Wednesday): UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A couple was found dead in a murder-suicide in an Upper Marlboro apartment Tuesday night, police said.

Officers responded to a welfare check in the 14000 block of New Acadia Ln. at about 7:45 p.m., police said. When they arrived, they found Bernard Williams, 54, of Brooklyn, NY suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Police also located Kiwa Toomer, 53, of Upper Marlboro with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. Both Williams and Toomer were pronounced dead on the scene.

The couple was in a relationship, police said. Detectives are working to establish a motive in this case.
