Update: Police Identify 2nd Pedestrian Killed In Hit-and-Run
Maryland State Police are investigating the second fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian to occur in two days in Prince George's County.
UPDATE (March 2, 1 p.m.): Maryland State Police identified the victim killed in the March 1 hit-and-run incident in Forestville as Earl L. Rogers Sr., 74, of Largo, Maryland. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the second fatal hit-and-run MPD is investigating to take place over the weekend in Prince George's County.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police troopers are investigating a second fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that took place over the weekend in Prince George's County, according to a police release.
On Sunday, March 1, around 8:30 p.m., troopers from the Forestville Barrack received a 911 call reporting that a pedestrian was struck by one or two vehicles in the southbound lanes of Route 4 at Old Marlboro Pike in Forestville. Responding to the scene, troopers discovered a victim lying in the grass off of the right shoulder of the road. Emergency personnel pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

Troopers from the La Plata and Forestville Barracks and the State Police Crash Team began investigating the scene and collecting evidence. The victim is only identified as an African American male.
Police ask anyone with information about the fatal hit and run to call Maryland State Police immediately at the Forestville Barracks at 301-568-8101, ext 0. Callers may remain anonymous.

This is the second fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian MPD investigated in Prince George's County over the weekend. The first occurred Saturday morning, Feb. 29, on Interstate 495 near College Park. Police are still looking for a silver 2018 or 2019 Nissan Altima, they say struck and killed an unidentified African American male.
