Three Prince George's County firefighters were treated for minor burns they received fighting an early morning fire in Upper Marlboro.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Four firefighters were treated for injuries following an early morning fire in Upper Marlboro, according to a Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department release.
PGFD units responded Friday, Feb. 21, around 3:37 a.m., to the report of a structure fire in the 10900 block of Dower House Court.
Arriving on the scene, firefighters found a single-family home under renovation, vacant, and heavy with fire, according to PGFD Spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan.

PGFD's Rapid Intervention Team responded to Friday morning's call and helped extricate firefighters working the fire.
"This certainly could've been far worse," Donelan said. "We're grateful that all four firefighters are now back home recovering. Firefighting is a dangerous job and it was heavy fire conditions. But with the plans that they have in place, everything worked."
Damages from the fire are estimated to be $100,000. Fire Investigation is working to determine the cause of the fire.
