
This Wednesday, county teacher and former Patch columnist Victorious Hall will host "Black Men on Black Male Achievement: A Community Conversation," a town hall discussion in which he and other community leaders will analyze ways to help black male students achieve in school.
At the discussion, community leaders, educators, and parents will also raise funds for the Oxon Hill Middle School Rites of Passage Program, which builds decision-making skills and emphasizes education for black male students.
Wednesday's discussion begins 6:30 p.m. at Oxon Hill Middle School, 9570 Fort Foote Road in Fort Washington. The event is free, but donations are accepted. Dinner will be available for purchase.
