Are you tired of overpaid, overexposed, and overindulged professional athletes?

For the fall season, the school will field teams for Cheerleading, Corollary Sports Softball (fashioned after the Special Olympics), Cross Country Track, Football, Golf, and Volleyball. Last fall, both the Golf & Football teams captured 3A/2A/1A county championships. They, along with the other fall sports teams, look forward to building upon the excellence expected of Douglass Athletics.
The intriguing part of our school’s sports squads is not the supremacy they display on the field, course, or court; rather, it is the academic dexterity they exhibit in the classroom. Last fall season, the cumulative GPA for nine teams was 2.95. Of the 160 fall participants, 45 earned a Maryland State Minds in Motion certificate, which is awarded to athletes who earn at least a 3.25 GPA during their respective season.

Much of the academic and athletic success earned by our student body is a direct result of the dedication of one of the most tenured and acclaimed coaching staff in the county. As the weather begins to cool this fall, our Frederick Douglass Eagles will be heating golf courses, volleyball courts, football and soccer fields, and cross country track paths all over the state.
Stay tuned for a preview of our winter season, starting November 15. We hope to see you in the stands!
