Bus Driver Indicted for Manslaughter in Pedestrian's Death
A Prince George's County bus driver was allegedly talking to a passenger while making a turn when the accident happened.

A bus driver who fatally struck a Charles County woman last year has been indicted on a charge of manslaughter, Prince George’s County officials said.
Patsy Stokes Burton, 69, of La Plata was struck by a bus July 31, 2014, Patch previously reported, at the intersection of Main and Water Street in Upper Marlboro. Burton died at the scene.
Investigators say Burton was in the crosswalk, trying to cross Main Street, when she was struck by the bus. The bus driver remained at the scene.

Prince George’s County prosecutors said Tuesday that bus driver, Michelle Murray, has been charged with negligent manslaughter in Stokes’ death. Murray may have been distracted and talking to a passenger when she tried to make a left turn and struck Stokes, The Washington Post reports.
Burton works for Transdev, a private company that provides transportation services for the county, authorities said.
