Chesapeake Life Center announces its schedule of grief support programs for children and youth that will be offered through December 2018.

  • Stepping Stones is a monthly support group for children ages 6 to 12 grieving the loss of a loved one that will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Sept. 8, Oct. 6, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1 on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena. The cost includes breakfast, games and activities and is $10 per child; maximum $20 per family.
  • Phoenix Rising is a monthly group for teens ages 13 to 18 grieving the loss of a loved one that will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 28 and Dec. 19 on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena. The cost includes dinner, games and activities and is $10 per teen; maximum $20 per family.
  • Tween Workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 6, when schools are closed for the general election, on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena. It is for children in those middle years, ages 10 to 12, where peer pressure reigns and talking about one’s feelings can be embarrassing. Here, tweens can be themselves and share their loss with peers dealing with the same emotions. The cost is $10 each.

Registration is required for all these programs and can be completed by calling 888-501-7077 or by emailing griefinfo@chesapeakelifecenter.org.
