Commuter Alert: Drivers Should Plan for Monday's NFL Game at FedEx Field
Game traffic is expected to affect Monday evening rush hour commute; police to use #GameTime for traffic monitoring.
The Washington Redskins play the Seattle Seahawks at FedEx Field in Largo Monday night. With a kick-off time of 8:30 p.m., Prince George’s County authorities expect game traffic will affect rush hour traffic and reminds drivers to plan ahead for their evening commute.
Football fans and commuters can get real-time traffic information by following the Prince George’s County Police Department’s twitter feed at @PGPDNews and using the hashtag #GameTime. When it’s safe to tweet, police ask residents to share what they see on the roads around the stadium.
Tips to help with the game day commute:
- Carpool with co-workers or your fellow football fans;
- Ride the Metro or TheBus to reach your destination;
- Add extra travel time and leave early;
- To avoid delays in the Landover/Largo area around the stadium, use alternate routes; and.
- Wear your seatbelts and drive safely!
